NCD Members

Network Communication Division is providing High Speed NICNET / Internet connectivity, Turn key solutions for the establishment of LAN/Campus Area Network/MAN/WAN, Mail Messaging Services, Video Conferencing, Anti Virus Support and Security Services to various Central/State/District level Departments/Organizations/users. NICNET Infrastructure is equipped with the various high end technology products & solutions like Enterprise Routers, L2/L3 Manageable LAN Switches, MPLS enabled 100Mbps to 2.5 Gbps Backbone connectivity, 2 Mbps to 34 Mbps Leased Line connectivity with 50 District NIC Centres, Gigabit OFC based Inter-Building LAN connecting Vidhan Sabha, Secretariat, Satpura and Vindhaychal Bhawans, Multi Layered Secured Architecture including Firewall and Intrusion Prevention System, Centralized Anti Virus/Patch Management Servers, Multi Router Traffic Graph Analyzer etc., with Integrated Network Operation Center functional on 24x7x365 basis for Network Management, Monitoring and Support services to various users. NIC MP State Center is connected over 100 Mbps Leased Line to NICHQ (New Delhi) and Disaster Recovery Center (DR-Hyderabad). Beside, this we have 2.5 Gbps connectivity to NIC-Mumbai and Hyderabad to cater the Data Communication and Virtual Class Room facility offered to various prestigious Institutions under National Knowledge Network (NKN) Project. NIC-MP Video Conferencing Network has been provided with Four IP/ISDN based State-Of-the-Art Multi-Point Conferencing Systems and Fifty One (50 NIC District Centres and Mantralaya) High Definition Video Conferencing equipments for Multi Point Video Conferencing. Beside, this EVCS (Executive Video Conferencing Systems) installed at Chief Secretary and DGP offices for interaction with Cabinet Secretaries and DGPs of other States. Secondly, NICNET has been enriched with MPLS along with Quality of Service implementations for providing rich Data as well as Video Conferencing Services.


Internet Services

Internet services has been extended to various State/Central Government Departments, Organizations over hybrid technology solutions like Managed Leased Lines, UTP, OFC, ISDN, VPN etc., based on technical & economical feasibility and desired throughput and Quality of Service. Departments availing NICNET/Internet Services through NIC-MPSC are -

  • HOD Buildings i.e. M.P. Vidhan Sabha, Mantralaya, Satpura Bhawan and Vindhyahcal Bhawan thru Gigabit OFC backbone based Inter-building LAN .

  • 3500 Nodes LAN at Secretariat, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Department of Forest covering their State HQ, Circle Offices and District locations using OFC/UTP and Leased Line (2Mbps) for Data and Video Communications.

  • Department of Post on MPLS Backbone connecting 69 Post Offices.

  • Pay & Accounts, Central Excise, CGHS, RPO etc, Central Government departments over MPLS.

  • National Judicial Academy, High Court & its benches (Jabalpur, Indore & Gwalior), Commissioners (Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior & Rewa), Commissioner - Land Records, Central & State Election Offices, MPRRDA, PSW, Census, MoEF, Commissioner - Zilla Panchayat(Shadol & Rewa), RSK, Academy of Administrations, Narmada Valley Development Authority  etc., beside many more departments over 2 MBps Leased Line connectivity.

  • LAN based connectivity has been extended to Directorate of Health Services, Directorate of Technical Education, Department of Higher Education, Public Health Engineering Department, Tribal Department, Tribal Area Development & Planning, Small Savings, Other Backward Classes, Directorate of Trainings, PWD, Law & Legislative Assembly, State Planning Board, Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Agriculture Department, Rural Development, Fisheries, M.P. Arbitration Tribunal, Economics Offense Bureau, Institutional Finance & many more.

E-Mail Services

Email services are provided to over 9000 Officials of various Central/State Government Departments & Educational Institutes, 1300 senior functionaries at Mantralaya and various other departments in Madhya Pradesh. This facility is also extended to Ministers, Vidhan Sabha officials, Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Under Secretaries and Section Officers at Mantralaya besides HOD's and their supporting staff of various departments/organizations. Utmost care is taken to provide the Spam free and reliable mail services to the clients for all 365 days.

Benefits- Spread the awareness among state officials as well as the district officials with regard to Email/Internet usage to their advantage and subsequently to the benefit of the State Government. Spam is a menace to the email services. To prevent this, a three tier blocking is done using sendmail, procmail and access feature. Around 2000 subjects, email addresses, domain related to spam are blocked to give best email services. 


Video Conferencing Services

Video Conferencing Services of NIC, Madhya Pradesh has made the cumulative per site hour utilization of more than 01 Lac during the last 3-4 years. Earlier utilization of 14,000 hours has been recorded under Limca Book of National Record (Year 2004). VC Services are used on regular basis by Hon’ able Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Secretary, Various HOD Departments and all the District Commissioners/Collectors on regular basis. Beside this, VC services have been extended for various International/National sessions to National Judicial Academy, President of India, Chief Justice of India etc., among others.

Benefits- The existing VC facility is serving as an excellent medium of communication, facilitating face-to-face meetings with District functionaries and also promoting interaction of grass root level functionaries with senior functionaries at the State/Central level. These meetings and interactions are motivating district level officials towards improving service delivery and efficiency.

It is proving to be a handy tool for review and monitoring purpose, besides for distance learning and training, thus serving the purpose of e-Governance.
